This official 2026 UK 50p coin celebrates 50 years since Concorde’s first commercial flight. Designed by Osborne Ross, the reverse features the aircraft in flight above a stylised globe, with the name CONCORDE shown in the style of a split-flap departure board.
First entering service in 1976, Concorde was a landmark of aviation engineering, capable of flying at over twice the speed of sound. It remains one of the most tested aircraft in history, with over 5,000 flight hours, and achieved record-breaking journeys including a sub-three-hour flight from New York to London in 1996.
Issued in partnership with British Airways and Airbus, the coin is struck to a Brilliant Uncirculated standard.
