The historical coin collection includes 2 genuine silver coins of the 2 Central Powers, the German Empire and the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary from the year 1914.
Following the assassination of the Austrian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, the First World War broke out.
The “Danubian Monarchy” declared war on the Kingdom of Serbia on 28th July 1914. Germany also joined the war on the side of its ally shortly afterwards on 1st August 1914.
