Prince Charles attended the University of Cambridge for his undergraduate studies from 1967 to 1970. He studied archaeology and anthropology at Trinity College, and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with upper second-class honours in 1970, becoming the first member of the Royal family to obtain a university degree.
During his time at Cambridge Charles was an active member of the university community. He was a member of the Trinity College Dramatic Society, and performed in several theatrical productions. He also participated in the university's boxing team and played on the rugby team.
After completing his undergraduate studies Charles spent a year at the University College of Wales in Aberystwyth, where he studied Welsh language and history. He then went on to study at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, and served in the Royal Navy from 1971 to 1976.
