The life of Jesus Christ is illustrated in this special folder. Jesus of Nazareth was born between 7 and 4 BC, presumably in Nazareth.
He appeared publicly as a wandering preacher from 28 AD in Galilee and Judea. In 30/31 AD, he was crucified by Roman soldiers at the command of Pontius Pilate, the Roman prefect in Jerusalem.
His followers pronounced his death and named him Jesus Christ (Jesus, the anointed), the Messiah and the son of God.
A new world religion arose, Christianity. Even outside of Christianity, Jesus achieved significance.
In 1978, the Vatican issued a set of 7 coins with motifs of the parables and stages of the life of Jesus.
