For the last 150 years the British Red Cross, which is built on compassion and kindness, have committed themselves to 'help people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are'.
To honour all of the courageous staff and volunteers of this national institution, The Royal Mint have released this limited edition Silver Proof £5 Coin. This is the first time ever that the British Red Cross has featured on UK coinage. On the reverse in vivid red the iconic Red Cross can be seen, a symbol of hope for many.
To help raise funds and increase awareness of this fantastic charity a portion of the net sales of this commemorative coin will be paid by The Royal Mint to Britcross Limited, a subsidiary of the British Red Cross Society, who make an annual donation to the charity*.
This Silver Proof coin is presented in a premium black case, alongside a certificate of authenticity.
*Charitable Statement 2.5–3% of the net retail price from the sale of this commemorative coin will be paid to Britcross Limited (registered company number 00932598 in England and Wales; registered office address 44 Moorfields, London, EC2Y 9AL), a subsidiary of the British Red Cross Society (registered charity number 220949 in England and Wales and SCO37738 in Scotland), which makes an annual donation to the charity. The payments by The Royal Mint to Britcross Limited will be at least £3,500, and expected to total £28,000 across our British Red Cross commemorative coin campaign.
