These two silver Drachms are reminiscent of the Sasanid Empire. King Khosrow I (King of 531-579) is considered the most important regent of the Sasanian Empire.
Under his nickname Anurshiwan (“the Immortal Soul”) he entered the legendary fairy tales of One Thousand and One Nights. His son Hormizd IV (regent from 579-590) succeeded him. The depictions of the two kings can be found on the front sides of the Drachms. The reverse shows two Sasanian guards flanking a fire altar.
