Following his marriage to Jane Seymour in 1536, Henry VIII commissioned a commanding entrance to the palace, adorned with majestic beasts to honour his new Queen Consort. Ten royal creatures were chosen to grace the Moat Bridge: the Seymour Panther, Lion of England, Yale of Beaufort, Bull of Clarence, Seymour Unicorn, Tudor Dragon, Queen's Panther, Greyhound of Richmond, Queen's Lion and Royal Dragon.
